Clinical Research Survey : UK Clinical Trials Ecosystem 2023

We appreciate you taking the time to complete this short survey at a critical time for the clinical research industry in the UK. Your feedback will be anonymised and no comments will be attributed to you without first obtaining your express permission. (Please note, we have extended the closing date for this survey (original closing date was 16 May 2023), to allow us to continue to collect valuable insights and opinions as we have ongoing discussions with Parliamentarians over the coming weeks. )

According to the GOV.UK website, George Freeman, Minister for State at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology said “Commercial clinical trials are absolutely vital to both our UK life sciences sector and widening NHS patient access to innovative medicines all across the UK.” Events over recent years have had a tremendous impact on both the NHS and the commercial sector. Valuable lessons have been learned that, as an industry, we must leverage to build back our industry to beyond pre-pandemic levels – to a place where clinical research is at the heart of our healthcare system, ensuring all patients have the opportunity to receive the latest and greatest treatments. The industry review by Lord O’Shaughnessy will build on the Government’s March 2021 10 year vision for clinical trials. However, it will take industry leaders such as ourselves, working together, to turn the high level vision into a realisable plan. We have seen many times how the whole is greater than the sum of the parts!
